Internship report(pol)

当研究室でのインターンシップを終えたpolさんから、レポートが届きました!8月から2月までの約6ヶ月間、お疲れ様でした。
We have received a report from Pol who has completed his internship in our lab! Thank you very much for your hard work over the 6 months from August to February.

I was an internship student at the Ohmori Group from August 2025 to February 2026, a period of six months. It was a wonderful time, and it felt as though those six months flew by.

Before coming here, I was studying for my Master’s degree in Chiang Mai and had never done an internship. One day, my advisor told me it was time for me to gain some experience outside of my home country. Being an internship student here was my first ‘work’ and also my first time traveling abroad. Everyone has their ‘firsts’—both good and bad. For me, traveling abroad and working with everyone here was a first that became a valuable memory. I was so happy that everyone welcomed me so warmly. Although I am not very talkative, everyone tried their best to communicate with me, which was truly touching and wonderful.

I worked with the 4G team on developing quantum computers. Each person was remarkably talented and reliable. Whenever I encountered a problem, they always had a solution. They were serious and focused on their work but also had a great sense of humor. This made the teamwork excellent and deeply impressive. I feel truly honored to have worked with all of them, and I cannot thank them enough.

Another thing that made my journey as an internship student even more complete was living in Okazaki and Japan. This experience has been immensely important. I learned so much about Japanese culture here—the lifestyle, social etiquette, traditions, food, and local attractions. Apparently, influenced by Japan’s culture of collecting, I have ended up collecting Goshuin from shrines and temples everywhere.

Additionally, traveling to new places like Kyoto, Hakone, and other locations was a wonderful experience. Whether traveling alone or with the team, it brings me joy every time I look at the photos.

During these six months, I have learned so much. Although there is still so much I do not know, I have at least learned significantly more than I did on my first day here. With everyone’s help and the great environment here, I am now highly motivated to continue studying atomic physics. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey in my life.
