Internship Report (Bee)

当研究室でのインターンシップを終えたBeeさんから、レポートが届きました!2月から7月までの約5ヶ月間、お疲れ様でした。
We have received a report from Bee who has completed her internship in our lab! Thank you very much for your hard work over the five months from February to July.

The first time I came to the Ohmori group for a workshop in November 2023. I decided to join as an intern in Feb-July. Thank you, Prof. Sylvain de Léséleuc, Dr. Kritisana Srakowl and Dr.Parinya Udomai , for giving me this opportunity.

At the beginning of my internship, everything felt new to me, and I was a bit nervous about both work and life. However, the Ohmori team is wonderful. The staff has been very helpful, and the research team is excellent. I didn’t know much about SLM, so I asked a lot of questions to Chew-san. I am very grateful to him as he patiently explained many things to me. I also appreciate the work culture in this group. If I have questions or get stuck with my experiments, I can discuss them with Sylvain, Tomita-san, and all the researchers. They also have lectures, journal clubs, Python clubs, workshops, and conferences, which help me understand more about cold atoms and optical tweezers.

Work life in the Ohmori group is enjoyable. We do many activities together, like having lunch together every day and sharing stories. It’s a time to see many cultures from France, Thailand, Japan, India, and other places. We have special activities like a Hanami party, going out to see fireflies, and a Takoyaki party. We also visit junior Japanese schools to talk and exchange cultures with the students.

Outside of work, I have made many friends, not only in the Ohmori group but also in other groups at IMS and NIBB. I enjoy having dinner, partying, and traveling with them. Honestly, I am interested in traveling around Japan because it is a beautiful country with polite people and a rich culture. Although I cannot speak Japanese, which sometimes makes things challenging. My friends and I traveled to many places together. We got lost and helped each other find our way out. It was a very fun experience.

Overall, I feel lucky to be an intern in the Ohmori group. It is an international group where everyone works with passion. They are all friendly and fun. If you are looking for a place to intern, I highly recommend this group.
