当研究室でのインターンシップを終えたBeamさんから、レポートが届きました！1月から5月までの約4ヶ月間、お疲れ様でした。
We have received a report from Beam who has completed his internship in our lab! Thank you very much for your hard work over the four months from January to May.

Everything happened very quickly for me. Before starting work, my advisor suggested, “Why not try to get work experience abroad?” Initially, I thought I would intern just to work and travel. However, what I gained far exceeded my expectations. I met new friends, experienced different working methods, and honed my decision-making skills. In the beginning, I felt a lot of pressure. But as I spent time talking and discussing various tasks and finding moments to relax, I realized that this place had much to offer and many areas for development. What impressed me the most was listening to various stories and perspectives during lunch breaks. In the evenings, I also enjoyed exploring new restaurants. When I confronted various problems at work, I received help in the office and during weekly meetings. This made me realize that learning can happen anytime, and assistance is available when we ask for it.

At first, I thought I had a bit of knowledge to apply to optical tweezers. However, once I started working, I realized how little I knew about the subject. This realization made me understand that there is much more to study and explore. This internship also encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone, accept mistakes, start over, and try again with new advice and perspectives. Most importantly, this internship taught me the importance of time. The most important concept I have learned is “If you can decide on things, your life will become easier.”
