🎋 Making Wishes in the Lab! Celebrating Tanabata Together

oplus_32

Hi everyone!

July 7th, Tanabata, is just around the corner.

To get into the spirit a little early, everyone in our lab got together to decorate for Tanabata!

Today, we’d like to share a heartwarming glimpse of life in our lab.

✍️ Wishes Written in Many Languages

With the bamboo ready, it was time to write our wishes on colorful wish strips, known as tanzaku.

Since our lab includes graduate students, researchers, and interns from overseas, the wishes reflected a wide range of cultures and languages. We had colorful tanzaku written not only in Japanese, but also in English and several other languages.

Hanging Our Wishes on the Bamboo

After writing our wishes, we carefully tied each tanzaku to the bamboo branches.

Watching the bamboo transform from a simple green plant into a vibrant display of everyone’s hopes and dreams was truly heartwarming.

Wishes about research, future goals, and life’s little joys all found their place on the branches.

Before long, we had created a one-of-a-kind Tanabata decoration filled with everyone’s sincere wishes!

🌌 Wishing for Dreams to Come True

Our days are usually packed with research, so taking time to celebrate a seasonal tradition together and share some smiles was really special.

As we hope that Orihime and Hikoboshi can meet safely across the Milky Way this year…

We also hope that everyone’s wishes come true!

We wish you all a wonderful Tanabata! 🎋✨
